What are FOSSIL FUELS?

Slide 3
Fossil fuels are made from the remains of prehistoric dead animals and plants found underneath the earth and has stored solar energy inside which releases energy when burned. The type of fossil fuels that you could get depends on the location you get it from because it has or gives different amounts of heat and pressure and the types of dead animals and plants they are made from. The major types of fossil fuels are: coal, oil and natural gas. Coal is found on land and is a solid while oil is found in the seas as a liquid. Natural gas is found during the production of oil and is mostly used for heating. Fossil fuels are NON-RENEWABLE energies people use for their cars, machines, heater, most appliances, electricity etc. and causes greenhouse gases. Therefore, even though fossil fuels are needed and depended on, they also destroy the Earth.
FACT: Fossil fuels supply 90% of the world’s energy.
